Project Summary:

We were appointed to investigate persistent damp affecting a chimney breast within a residential property. Our survey included internal inspection, loft assessment and an external drone survey to determine the source of moisture and evaluate previous repair attempts.

Our assessment identified high damp readings in the chimney structure, potential saturation of the brick stack during heavy rainfall, absence of a DPC tray, and condensation risks linked to spray foam insulation. We provided clear recommendations, including improving ventilation, installing an internal membrane system and considering external masonry protection if required.
