Our Managing Director, Tony Hulejczuk, recently completed a 12-week course at the University of Portsmouth. This government-funded business management (Help to Grow) course focuses on boosting business performance. Because running a business involves many challenges, small to medium-sized enterprises often face unique problems to overcome. One of the reasons Focus Consulting has thrived for 25 years is Tony’s motto: “Never rest on your laurels.” Therefore, he consistently takes opportunities to grow and develop.
Regarding the structure, the programme lasted three months and combined online learning with face-to-face practical management. Portsmouth Business School delivers this programme, which the Small Business Charter (SBC) accredits and the Department for Business and Trade supports. During this time, Tony received one-to-one bespoke mentoring from coaching professionals. He also gained quality contacts by networking with like-minded business owners.
Furthermore, the course covered essential subjects such as building vision and brand, adopting digital technology, and engaging teams. It also focused on adopting responsible business practices and financial management. Since completing the course, Focus Consulting has embraced social media and new technologies like drones. We also promoted Iain Staines to the role of director within the company..
Looking ahead, Tony and Iain will continue to drive the business forward. They plan to modernise the firm and embrace more efficient processes. Ultimately, Focus Consulting aims to increase its presence both online and in person. We look forward to bringing a professional and experienced voice to networking and business events throughout 2024.
