Our Managing Director, Tony Hulejczuk recently undertook a 12-week course at the University of Portsmouth. This was a Government funded Business Management (Help to Grow) course, designed to boost business performance. Running a business often has many challenges and being a small to medium sized business brings unique problems to overcome. One of the many reasons Focus Consulting has been running for 25 years is down to one of Tony’s motto’s “never rest on your larels” and that means taking opportunities to continue to grow and develop.

The course was a three month online and face-to-face practical management programme. Portsmouth Business School delivers the programme, which is accredited by the Small Business Charter (SBC) and is supported by the Department for Business and Trade. Tony received 1 to 1 bespoke mentoring from coaching professionals but also gained quality contacts by networking with like minded business owners.

They covered subjects such as building vision and brand, adopting digital technology, engaging and inspiring teams, adopting responsible business practices and financial management. Since then Focus Consulting has embraced social media, new technologies such as drones and promoted a new Director in the company, Iain Staines.

Tony and Iain will continue to drive the business forward and plan to modernise and embrace more efficient processes. Focus Consulting aims to be more present online and in person, bringing a professional and experienced voice to networking and business events in 2024.
