We recently had a CPD training session with iMist Fire Suppression talking about the benefits of a mist system over a sprinkler system in both retrofit projects and new builds. We learned about how we could incorporate mist systems into our design and specification writing and recommend them in Building Surveys/ Condition Surveys in and around Brighton and Hove and surrounding East Sussex and West Sussex. Our experience as Chartered Building Surveyors and handling Fire Insurance Claims has given us enough experience to really see the benefit of a mist fire suppression system.

The mist system runs on mains water and uses 80% less water than a sprinkler system, it is compact and efficient and has a 100% success rate at supressing fires as it tackles all elements that activate a fire. The mist system will reduce temperature, remove fuel and displaces the oxygen in the room.

Sadly, we still see fires occurring in homes and flats and we have experience in managing fire insurance claims. Should you find yourself in this position, we can help work on your behalf as a Chartered Building Surveyor and liaise with the Loss Adjuster to ensure you get a full refurbishment. See our insurance claims page here or contact us directly.

After seeing the many benefits of a mist system, with priority being saving lives, we would expect to see these being installed in all new builds soon. As Building Surveyors, we only recommend safe, certified systems and products in our specification writing or Building Surveys/ Condition Surveys.

The terrible Grenfell tragedy has seen a huge increase in properties requiring Fire Risk Assessments, particularly to high rise flats. As a trusted firm of Building Surveyors, we can arrange a Fire Risk Assessment to be carried out by competent Fire Risk Assessors in Brighton and Hove or around West Sussex or East Sussex and prepare a specification of works based on the findings.

The iMist fire suppression system is compliant with all Building Control requirements and regulations and can be used in residential retrofit projects or new build projects. If you require a Fire Risk Assessment, a Building Survey/ Condition Survey or need a Project Manager/ Contract Administrator for a new build project then contact us now.
